Responsibilities

Lead the design, review, and stamping of detailed electrical power distribution and lighting system designs for semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and high-tech industrial facilities, ensuring compliance with NEC and applicable NFPA guidelines.
  • Develop coordinated design deliverable documents using Revit and AutoCAD, with data-driven integration of power distribution equipment.
Collaborate closely with all disciplines to synchronize electrical infrastructure to enable efficient constructability and maintain operational safety.
  • Prepare and review comprehensive basis of design (BOD) documents, electrical system narratives, manpower estimates, project proposal documents and technical specifications aligned to client requirements and code mandates including the International Building Code (IBC) and International Fire Code (IFC).
  • Manage and execute rigorous QA/QC workflows, including peer reviews, design validation, and site walkthroughs during construction administration and system startup phases, ensuring design intent is executed as specified and system performance goals are met.
  • Interface regularly with clients, contractors, and vendors to clarify scope, evaluate proposed equipment substitutions, respond to RFIs, and oversee submittal reviews, ensuring robust communication and project transparency throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Utilize modeling tools to perform arc flash hazard analyses, load flow studies, and short circuit calculations, and coordination studies to optimize system safety and operational reliability within complex industrial power systems.
  • Direct the coordination and integration of electrical drawings and design fabrication packages within Bluebeam and Navisworks models, facilitating clash detection and constructability assessments.
  • Lead troubleshooting and commissioning support during turnover, resolving design-related issues and verifying system functionality to client satisfaction.
  • Champions, mentors, and coaches the development of our less experienced staff and look for ways to elevate the technical and professional expertise of the team.
  • Participate in risk assessments associated with electrical designs and contribute to workplace safety practices in alignment with NFPA 70E and site-specific OSHA requirements.
  • Support scheduling and cost estimation processes by providing input on electrical system scope, vendor lead times, and constructability considerations relevant to project delivery phases.
  • Contribute technical expertise during interdisciplinary coordination meetings, providing timely resolution of design conflicts and ensuring alignment with client operational requirements and timeline constraints.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice.
  • Active PE license in California or evidence of ability to obtain by reciprocity within six months of hire; responsible charge of electrical design and stamping authority required.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design, documentation, and BIM coordination at large and complex industrial project scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with clients and contractors to define scope, lead technical discussions, and deliver electrical design solutions aligned with operational and safety requirements.
  • Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), International Building Code (IBC), International Fire Code (IFC), and relevant NFPA standards governing the design and installation of electrical systems in industrial facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience designing electrical power systems for semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or high-tech industrial sectors, including proven expertise with power distribution systems is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring junior engineers or leading small project teams through complex electrical design challenges.
  • Salary Range: $160,000 - $250,000/year depending on location, education, depth of relevant experience. Opportunity for ample rewards, leadership incentive/bonus program, and ownership investment opportunities.
  • Benefits: Includes comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401K retirement savings plan (with company matching), opportunities for professional development and training (including support for relevant licensure & certifications), and generous PTO & paid holidays.
