Job Purpose

The Planning Specialist at Bren-Tronics, part of EnerSys and a manufacturer of advanced portable power solutions, plays a critical role in supporting internal manufacturing operations by coordinating production schedules, material planning, and system-driven workflows within a defense manufacturing environment. This position works closely with operations, supply chain, engineering, quality, and finance teams to align planning activities with manufacturing capabilities, material availability, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a regulated manufacturing setting with high expectations for accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules to meet customer and contract requirements
  • Firm and release work orders in alignment with production priorities
  • Identify, track, and resolve material and work order shortages
  • Provide customer lead-time estimates in coordination with sales and operations
  • Analyze MRP data and forecasts to support production and inventory planning
  • Communicate daily schedule changes to operations to ensure on-time shipments
  • Support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Bill of Material (BOM) updates
  • Develop and maintain planning, inventory, and performance reports from the ERP system
  • Analyze demand and forecast data, including inputs from ERP and Salesforce
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, sales, warehouse, production, and finance
  • Support cycle count programs, inventory accuracy investigations, and discrepancy resolution
  • Assist with annual physical inventory counts and reconciliation
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning and inventory processes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
    Manufacturing experience required
  • 1+ years of experience in planning, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, or relevant internships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred
