Job Summary

The Scheduler coordinates and utilizes the ERP system to schedule the flow of work and materials within or between work centers. The Scheduler will schedule daily using the pull system to the assembly departments while load leveling previous processes.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and entering work orders
    * Schedule jobs by utilizing the Shop Load Resource X report while scheudling to defined capacities.
    * Report job status and scheduled shipments in weekly production meetings.
    * Monitor and analyze work center loads. Work with Master Scheduler to review reports that show imbalance and make suggestions and update the balance of work center loads.
    * Work with Production Managers and Supervisors to verify data collection through labor edit report. Manage the job completion cycle by closing jobs daily.
    * Run two job status reports weekly (monthly and complete).
    * Schedule all cold press and melamine jobs.
    * Work with Engineering to update jobs if a BOM is changed.
    * Work with Purchasing to ensure jobs are in line with material arrival.
    * Provide dashboard reporting that includes schedule attainment and overall production numbers for upper management.
    * Run various weekly reports to ensure jobs are correctly scheduled properly.
    * Run time phase negative report and schedule jobs as needed for all customers daily.
    * Responsible for meeting with procurement and make part subs as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in an operations role in a manufacturing environment, consumer environment industry preferred
    * Working knowledge of ERP software
    * Proficient in the use of MS Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook
    * Ability to express oneself professionally utilizing both verbal and written communications
    * Ability to work independently
    * Ability to work cross functionally and collaborate within a muli-departmental team
    * Must be able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
