Python Developer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Python Developer. This is a Hybrid remote position located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity and requires 3 days onsite.

This role is responsible for building, testing, and deploying scalable software solutions using Python for a Major Financial Institution. The ideal candidate will work across back-end systems, APIs, and data-driven applications to support a variety of technical and business needs, with a focus on the financial risk management domain.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain highly scalable server-side applications, APIs, and scripts using Core Python
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions
• Integrate databases, third-party services, and APIs into applications
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices
• Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure application reliability
• Participate in code reviews and support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes
• Demonstrate strong system design skills, including rationalizing architecture and articulating technical concepts

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience as a developer building applications from the ground up
• Very strong Python and SQL foundational knowledge
• Hands-on experience with Python web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
• Experience working on SQL with the ability to run various data analytics tasks and queries
• Exposure to the Azure environment and interconnected components (e.g., Functions, App Service, Containers)
• Experience with version control systems such as GitHub, Git, or Azure DevOps
• Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.

Desired skills:

• Exposure to JavaScript technologies, preferably React
• Exposure to the Azure Databricks environment (PySpark, notebooks, delta lake, unity catalog)
• Knowledge of the Financial domain, specifically Risk Management
• Experience with Big Data technologies like Apache Spark
• Familiarity with visualization tools like Power BI
• Experience with data integration and workflow orchestration tools like Azure Data Factory or Databricks Workflows

Pay range: up to $79.20 per Hour
