What You'll Do (Position Description)

The Director of Social Services for our Child/Adolescent populations offers both administrative and clinical leadership to our Social Services department. This role involves interviewing and recommending new hires, overseeing training and development of the department, and supervising department staff in alignment with the facility's philosophy, goals, and standards, as well as level of care requirements. The Director ensures the department consistently maintains a safe and therapeutic environment, exemplifying service excellence and fostering successful departmental growth. Additionally, the Director will evaluate the needs of the program and modify changes a necessary, including but not limited to discharge planning, maintaining relationships with referral sources and key stakeholders, and developing strategic planning that addresses the needs of the facility and each of our patient populations.

This position will be supervised by both our Director and Assistant Director of Clinical Services. The Director of Social Services must be adaptable and a collaborative team player to meet the evolving needs of the facility and our diverse populations. Candidates should be able to effectively engage with all levels of stakeholders, including our CEO and CNO, various departments, as well as patients and their families.

Contributions to Team Success (Job Duties/Responsibilities)

  • Manage the Clinical operations and oversight of inpatient units for child and adolescent populations
  • Provide supervision, training and guidance to Social Services employees
  • Coordinate, plan and implement social services processes and procedures across units
  • Manage social services coverage for units
  • Successful cross-functional collaboration between Nursing, Therapy/Counseling and other departments to ensure a positive patient experience

Qualifications

What We Want to See from You! (Job Requirements/Preferred Skills)

  • Master's degree in Social Work required
  • LCSW or LPC required
  • Joint Commission, OMHSAS, DDAP experience required
  • 5 years prior experience in a clinical management or supervisory role required
  • Experience working within an inpatient behavioral health setting
  • Experience working with a variety of children and adolescent populations
  • Change Management experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strategic and empathetic decision-making skills
