Join a small, dedicated team focused on building the Carolinas' first freestanding Children's Hospital.

Summary:

North Carolina Children's, a new children's health system in North Carolina, will be the state's only academic health system dedicated solely to caring for kids.

The Prospect Development Manager will design, build, and lead a best-in-class prospect development function from the ground up. Teaming with the President, this leader will oversee prospect research, portfolio management, analytics, and data strategy to ensure a robust and high- performing pipeline of philanthropic support. The role requires a visionary professional who is highly innovative and skilled at crafting unconventional pathways to achieve ambitious philanthropic goals-the creation of a new, statewide children's health system.

Responsibilities:

Team with the Foundation President, Vice President for Development, Board of Directors, and NC Children's Leadership to design and implement a comprehensive prospect development strategy aligned with NC Children's campaign goals and long-term philanthropic vision. Serve as a key leader in the implementation and governance of NC Children's Foundation's CRM, ensuring it is designed to enable a best-in-class prospect development function. Build scalable systems, policies, and processes to support prospect identification, qualification, assignment and movement. Oversee proactive and reactive prospect research efforts, with an emphasis on identification of new transformational and major gift prospects. Ensure the delivery of high-quality, actionable research products, including briefings, profiles, capacity assessments, and wealth screenings. Leverage data analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and inform decision=making across the philanthropy team. Develop tools, dashboards, and reporting to support portfolio review, goal setting, and accountability. Ensure adherence to industry best practices, ethical standards, and privacy regulations related to prospect research and data use. Support the buildout of the Foundation's philanthropic infrastructure, systems, policies and team. Personally manage a select portfolio of individuals, families, and foundations with the capacity to make landmark investments that advance children's health in North Carolina and beyond.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree required.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* None required.

Professional Experience Requirements:
* Requires five (5) years of progressive experience in prospect development, advancement services, or a related field within a complex philanthropic organization.
* Experience in an early-stage charitable foundation and/or Children's Hospital is preferred but not required.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, strategic recommendations.
* Willingness to pitch in and do what needs to be done to achieve ambitious personal and Foundation goals.
* Ability to thrive in ambiguity, build structure where none exists, and test unconventional approaches with confidence and grace.
* Willingness to learn - open to acquiring new skills, technologies, and subject matter expertise.
* Deep knowledge of philanthropic best practices.
* Ability to juggle multiple projects as new and competing demands emerge, and comfort with re-prioritization to ensure alignment with Foundation strategic priorities and advancement of its mission.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to convey information clearly, professionally and diplomatically; ability to earn the trust of senior leaders and frontline fundraisers.
