Join a small, dedicated team focused on building the Carolinas' first freestanding Children's Hospital.

Summary:

North Carolina Children's, a new children's health system in North Carolina, will be the state's only academic health system dedicated solely to caring for kids.

Reporting to the Director of Stewardship, Gift and Donor Services, the primary purpose of this position will be to provide administrative assistance to all areas of North Carolina Children's Foundation and to assist with the day-to-day donor experience operations for the Foundation. Main areas of support include stewardship activities, research projects related to development initiatives, acknowledgement preparation, electronic and mail mass communications, database querying and data analysis, and event planning and support. To be successful in this role, one must demonstrate outstanding customer service through effective communication, prioritization of tasks, and management of development customer expectations - identifying key task and milestones in support of projects and managing deadlines proactively to ensure solid partnership and project completion.

Responsibilities:

Build relationships with assigned development officers, learning about their areas of specialty and strategic initiatives and delivering donor and development support services as needed. Seek out and volunteer for opportunities whenever possible and appropriate to participate in development team.

Manage weekly acknowledgement process for all gifts to NorthCarolina Children's Foundation, including tribute gifts.

Show technical competency in Davie in support of query requests for donor/giving reports, invitation lists, mass mailings, and other queries and needs of the development teams. This includes competency in Salesforce in support of electronic mailings, newsletters, and mass communications.

Demonstrate knowledge of proper handling of protected health information and ensure data and files are stored and managed correctly in support of help desk requests and other projects.

Manage and update features and user interface of the Help Desk platform, with timely response and communication on emails and help desk tickets.

Continue to advance competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in support of data manipulation, the creation of charts and presentations and the formatting and printing of event related materials.

Qualifications

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Licensure/Certification: No licensure or certification required.

Professional Experience Requirements: Candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of experience providing development support or working in a fundraising office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: An open communication style is essential for this position, as well as strong communication skills (verbal and written). Candidate must have excellent analytic, interpretive, and listening skills. Candidate must be able to work independently with little or no supervision to complete tasks and duties within prescribed deadlines, whether requested outside the office or self-imposed. Candidate must have functional knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Prior experience working in a CRM database system preferred.
