Job Description




As a Security Officer - Patrol in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will monitor grounds and key areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support teams and visitors with helpful customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting of unusual activity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to Allied Universal clients by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution facility.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of the building, loading dock areas, trailer yards, parking areas and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and support controlled entry for employees, authorized visitors and drivers by checking identification, verifying permissions and directing traffic and deliveries to the proper area.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or local emergency services as needed, and documenting actions taken.
  • Complete routine reports and log entries, report maintenance or operational concerns observed during patrols, and communicate status updates to the Allied Universal supervisor and/or client representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
