The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 to provide office support to the Facilities Management Division in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. If you are energetic, efficient, and detail oriented, this may be the perfect position for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position the Clerical Assistant 2 will prepare, type, and track various correspondence, forms, and reports associated with Division activities. Proofreads various documents to ensure that they are completed in a grammatically correct manner and consistent with department regulations. Makes copies for all Bureaus, Agencies, and contractors or landlords involved in projects and distribute them accordingly. Types and keeps track of potable water test reports for all leased stations and distributes copies to Stations and Staff Commanding Officer for affected Troop, to ensure compliance with the Clean Water Act. Additional duties include Division timekeeper who will track employees time to ensure that it complies with intended time absent, track Visa card purchases and maintain compliance with regulations, as well as order and track purchases of office supplies and maintenance supplies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Free parking at this facility.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience in a position that requires paying invoices and purchasing card reconciliation.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Previous experience performing clerical work within a facility maintenance environment.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
