DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will conduct a wide-range of duties in relation to fire certification services and SFA office support. You will be responsible for serving as a lead worker over clerical staff by assigning and reviewing fire certification application work, providing guidance and on-the-job training, and ensuring clerical staff possess a comprehensive understanding of the methods and procedures used to meet certification operations. You will also process certification applications after review by certification program staff, create credentials and mail out all necessary documentation, and maintain certification databases.
SFA support functions involve conducting
clerical duties for the Pennsylvania SFA Certification Program Manager and the Fire Academy Training Services Administrator and assistant. You will serve as an SFA alternate timekeeper for processing and verifying overtime and compensatory time requests, in addition to completing mailroom functions and documenting a variety of meeting minutes.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- In the event of an emergency/disaster situation or training exercise, this position may be required to travel, work up to 12-hour shifts, and work outside of the normal work hours, including weekends and overnights.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the State Fire Academy in Lewistown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
