Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development:

- Design and develop simulation curricula that aligns with the standards of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Commission on Collegiate nursing Education (CCNE), Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) and the International Nursing Association of Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL),

- Ensure simulation learning experiences are aligned with nursing competencies, standards, and current best practices, incorporating cutting-edge technologies.

2. Collaboration with Faculty:

- Interface with didactic and clinical faculty to bridge coursework with real-world settings, ensuring simulation-based learning is integrated seamlessly into the curriculum.

- Work with faculty to create comprehensive simulation programs that enhance learning outcomes and align with academic goals.

3. Simulation Learning Experience Development:

- Develop, implement, and evaluate simulation scenarios that are leveled to the learner's year of study.

- Design pre-learning activities (e.g., admit-to-simulation tickets), develop detailed pre- and debrief scripts for faculty, and utilize situational awareness rooms to ensure patient/provider safety during simulation.

- Implement both formative and summative assessments of learners to evaluate performance and guide future learning.

-Collect and analyze simulation learning experience evaluations (both learner and faculty) to drive continuous improvement.

4. Scaffold Learning Experience Design:

- Ensure simulation scenarios and learning experiences are scaffolded across levels of learning (e.g., from entry-level students to advanced practitioners), allowing for progressive skill development and competency building.

5. Integration of VR/AI Technologies:

- Lead the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies into simulation learning environments to enhance realism, adaptability, and individualized learning experiences.

- Collaborate with faculty and technology specialists to design VR/AI-based simulations that allow for diverse clinical scenarios and provide real-time feedback to learners.

- Ensure the technical functionality and efficacy of VR/AI tools in simulation exercises, troubleshooting any issues that arise to maintain smooth delivery.

6. Clinical Integration and Quality Assurance:

- Collaborate with clinical sites to ensure that simulation scenarios incorporate clinical policies, procedures, and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission), enhancing the alignment of simulation experiences with real-world clinical settings.

- Integrate principles of Quality Assurance/Continuous Quality Improvement (QA/CQI), High Reliability Organizations (HRO), and patient/provider safety into simulation education programs, ensuring best practices are followed throughout the simulation process.
