Job Summary

This role works at a high technical level of various phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of applying technology to the current and future business environment. The business systems analyst is responsible for drafting detailed plans, assisting with writing technical specifications, and being aware of the finances of projects and take project budget constraints into consideration.

The role is critical in identifying and driving process improvement and efficiency initiatives, team financial and budget analysis, and fostering both intra- and inter-team communications and cooperation.

In addition, s/he conducts complex business process analysis resulting in the identification of process issues and associated solutions. They must have the ability to locate both potential business and technical problems, identifying potential solutions.

The analyst acts as a liaison between customers, partners and cybersecurity team. In addition, the role will act as the single point of contact within IT for investigation requests from departments such as Compliance, UCD PD, and Legal Affairs. This will include coordinating with various teams and stakeholders.

The analyst must be highly organized, able to deal with ambiguity and time pressures and very proficient in writing, analysis and use of all Microsoft office and relevant web development and portal tools. The analyst must be a self-starter and able to work with a minimum of direct supervision.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in related are and, or equivalent experience / certifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a business or systems analyst leading large scale IT initiatives and projects
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with process and systems analysis
  • Demonstrated skills needed to efficiently develop process maps using common flowchart standards. Demonstrated experience with process analysis, systems analysis, process architectures and systems analysis methodologies. Understanding and skill in complex process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Data modeling, Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
  • Demonstrated skills needed to synthesize information into succinct, concise and logical summaries and reports. Knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies; demonstrated testing and test planning skills. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Excellent presentation skills: ability to formulate and communicate data process, findings and recommendations to business owners and executives.
  • Has experience of progressive broad-based information systems business analysis and project management, with strong project management methodology background. Has experience working with ITIL frameworks for IT Service Management implementation and best practices for identifying, planning, delivering and supporting IT services to the business. Has experience with ITSM Tools i.e., ServiceNow or Remedy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus.
  • Experience with integrated multi-vendor IT Security technology environment
  • Experience with academic institutions or large integrated health systems
