We are seeking a highly qualified Plans Examinerholding Massachusetts State Certification and ICC certification(s)to perform professional building plan reviews for projects within the Boston Metro and Cape Cod Region. The Plans Examiner shall be an experienced code professional who values technical accuracy and strong understanding of the Massachusetts Codes and Standards. As a Plans Examiner, you'll play a key role in ensuring building safety and compliance while working closely with public agencies, architects, contractors, and the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive plan reviews for compliance with the Massachusetts Building Code.
  • Review architectural, structural, fire and life-safety, accessibility, and egress components.
  • Coordinate professionally with design professionals, municipal officials, and internal staff.
  • Provide clear, defensible code interpretations and written review comments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely plan review documentation.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Massachusetts State Certification(Plans Examiner or equivalent).
  • ICC Plans Examiner Certification(s)(Building preferred; additional disciplines a plus).
  • Demonstrated experience in municipal or third-party plan review.
  • Strong working knowledge of Massachusetts amendments.
  • Excellent written communication and professional judgment.
  • MA Licensed Engineer or Architect.
  • Multi-discipline ICC certifications.
  • Experience reviewing commercial, mixed-use, or specialized occupancies.
  • Familiarity with electronic plan review platforms.
