AI/ML Engineer and AI Shared Service Developer

The Opportunity:

As an experienced AI/ML Engineer, you will help develop and operationalizeasecure, scalable, production-grade AIlibrary of reusablesolutionsand shared servicesthatadvance the deployment of common AI solutions across the federal government. You will workclosely withsolution architects and product owners to deliver high-impact AI/ML solutions across a broad range of use cases.

In this role, you willdesign and build,shared services usingplatformsbuilt on Databricks, Amazon Bedrock, and custom AI/ML models. You willdevelop AI solutions to accelerate and improve system security, core business functionality such asdocument processing and virtual agents, and AIOps to streamline cloud and data platform operations.You will work closely with cloud engineers, SRE, and data engineers to develop use cases, prototype solutions, and deploy agents across the cloud infrastructure.You will build andoperateproduction-grade ML pipelines with strongMLOpspractices-including versioning, CI/CD, monitoring, drift detection, explainability, and fairness-and integrate with shared enterprise services using API-first and event-driven patterns. You will also harden the platform to meet security and compliance requirements, including ATO, produce architecture and operational documentation, and collaborate closely with product, fraud, and case management teams in an Agile delivery environment. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications using agile methods
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks such as JavaScript, Python, or Scala
  • Experience with Amazon Bedrock and Databricks for developing AI solutions
  • Experience with agentic coding solutions including GitHub Copilot
  • Experience with API-first and event-driven integration patterns, including secure service-to-service communication
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including collaborating with product owners, SMEs, and engineering teams
  • Knowledge of Responsible AI practices, including explainability, fairness, and bias assessment
  • Ability to design and document architecture artifacts, data contracts, and operational runbooks
  • Public Trust
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with administration of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Kubernetes, Docker, or Jenkins
  • Master's degree
  • ML, AI, or solution architecture certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
