Marketing Manager- Label Assets and Collateral Production

Position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing Consumer Brands decorative label processes, plant support, product launch impact, and assets inventory value while optimizing reporting systems to exceed internal customer expectations. Other responsibilities include merchandising production collateral coordination supporting the MARCOM team and print vendors to ensure projects are accurate, timely, and aligned with specifications. Support of divisional growth objectives for all Consumer Brands for both label features and collateral finished goods is fundamental. Position manages accurate inventory reporting to allow improved inventory health and reduction of obsolescence. Other contributions include interaction with vendors; expense and invoicing management; effective and timely troubleshooting and problem resolution; etc.

This role is not remote/hybrid and will report to our Higgins Rd. Chicago, IL office

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Label Assets

  • Accountable for 8500+ legacy Valspar skus and all added CBG legacy SW skus managing an inordinate amount of detail involving greater than 30% sku specification changes annually, ensuring correct setup of new items, disposition of old items while adhering to leadership timing launch timelines (Bulk paint, Woodcare, Concrete categories)
  • Ensure vendors understand and are compliant with our continually changing expectations - label changes, discontinuance, min/max requirements, expedited orders, and supplier non-conformances/root cause elimination.
  • Manage and utilize internal systems which support inventory and accurate product status becoming resident systems expert regarding label assets and processes
  • Provide support for plants producing CBG finished goods to ensure label accuracy, vendor service level meets plant needs, quick effective delivery resolution to ensure no plant downtime, etc
  • Function as Marketing label/operations expert for new product introductions, full line redesigns, line extensions, and regulatory changes to ensure all internal customers' needs are met

Collateral Production:

  • Accountable to support 500+ collateral projects annually across all CBG brands
  • Assist in documentation and confirmation of project specifications including stock, color, and finishing
  • Function as color accurate approver for all types of printed collateral matter including coordinating proofing and participating in press oks as SW representative at the print vendor adhering to agreed upon standards.
  • Coordinate file format consistency, transfer, CFO capture, and timely delivery.
  • Track project timelines, communicate job status, and work in lock step with Brand A's and MARCOM
  • Help maintain quality control ensuring vendor compliance and quality production execution

Dual category responsibilities:

  • Provide expense creation and reconciliation of Accounts Payable invoice discrepancies including analysis and payment approval
  • Support MARCOM and Brand A's for value capture, innovation, or optimization projects
  • Execute trouble shooting, root cause identification, effective solution implementation for quality, service, logistics, etc for both internal and external label and collateral related issues
  • Manage professional daily interactions with vendors that enhance our partnership and exceed customer expectations
  • Perform cost/ benefit analysis with director, including cost savings, process efficiencies, and negotiations with suppliers to provide compliance conformance to existing process and new value capture

Experience:

Required:

  • 15 + years in a related field with specific concentration on retail dependent categories in a business management, purchasing and operations support role
  • Legal working knowledge of purchasing and contracting compliance
