Description

Leidosis hiring an energetic, motivated, innovative individual to be a part of our team supporting Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in Baltimore, MD. TheCloud Engineerworks closely with the Program team to manage,maintain,modernizeandoptimizeapplication's performance, durability, and cost to best support CMS and thegeneral public. You will deliver solutions thatultimately ensurethat the functions of Medicare, Medicaid, and Marketplace are carried out for the US citizen and contribute to efforts to reduce healthcare costs.

With a "no downtime, zero outages" vision and mantra, we support a range of hybrid and multicloud basedapplication needs, ranging from managed services to self-service, all of which are based on our customer's required level of support.

As aCloud Engineeryou willbe requiredto develop solutions that are highly innovative and achieved through research and integration of industry best practices. You will influence development of solutions thatimpactstrategic project/program goals and business results while also leading work of other technical staff. You will resolvehighly complexproblems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing,reasoningand interpretation. You will interact daily with various technical resources across different vendors which are fulfilling technical requirements for the customer.

Your goal will be to work with all stakeholders to help Leidos ensure delivery of high-quality, robust, and scalable solutions with minimal business impact. Lastly and most importantly, you willrepresentour program when meeting with the Application Development Organizations (ADO) andidentifyopportunities to provide support as well as modernization and innovation opportunities for their application.

The current work environment is remoteleveragingvarious tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Build andmaintainproducts focused on application development lifecycle automation across multiple cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP. Apply best practices and best of breed services within and across multiple CSPs to provide parity and cohesive integration within the customer's hybrid cloud enterprise.

  • Work with the cloud, security, testing, and application teams to build orchestration pipelines

  • Build, support, andmaintainCI/CD pipelines that conduct multiple deployments a day

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement byestablishingand participating in feedback loops

  • Meet with applications on a regular cadence to provide support andidentifyopportunities for optimization

  • Develop strong relationships and partnerships with the other CMS Hybrid Cloud Product Teams

  • Continuously refresh infrastructure components such as EC2 instances, Cloud Formation Stacks, Kubernetes clusters, containers, etc.

  • Promote strong quality control practices for all managed services as well asmaintainrobust documentation

  • Work independently to resolvehighly complexproblems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation


Basic Qualifications


  • Works independently under "minimal supervision." Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 4+ years ofgeneral experience. With aMaster'sdegree, 2+ years of experience isrequired.Additionalexperience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Knowledge of cloud-based security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience protecting all layers of the application stack.

  • Knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Experience in cloud technologies, cloud services,IaC, cloud storage, cloudnetworkingand cloud security.

  • Experience with container build and orchestration: Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, AKS, Docker

  • Operatizing System Setup and Best practices: RHEL, AL2, AL23, Windows

  • Build Tools: Jenkins, GitHub

  • Experience with CI/CD Tools:Sonarqube,Snyk,

  • Dependency Management tools: Maven.

  • Configuration Management tools: Ansible, Terraform, Git.

  • Experience with Cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.

  • Experience working with FISMA compliant systems

  • Experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure config best practices

  • Experience with CloudWatch logs and Metrics

  • Experience with AWS/Azure CLI, shell languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell), and formal programming languages (e.g., Python, Golang, Rust).

  • Experience with containers (Docker, ECS, EKS, AKS), serverless (Lambda), and Virtual Machine (VMware/Hyper-V, KVM) architectures.

  • Experience bootstrapping and automating the build of complete environments.

  • Efficient communication, zero handoff mentality,accountabilityand integrity as core.

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage conflict effectively.

  • Ability to adapt and be productive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills supporting multiple stakeholders and business operations.

  • Self-starter, self-managed, and a team player.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Cloud Certification (e.g., AWSSysOpsAdministrator, Azure Administrator).

  • Proven ability to work with challenging customers.

  • Agile-based knowledge and skill, including experience with Scrum Ceremonies and work management tools (e.g., (JIRA, Confluence).

  • Security Skills-Knowledge of information assurance compliance and information security basics within CMS.


Required Clearance


  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
