Per Diem - Clinical Assistant, Complex Surgery Unit

• Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse the Clinical Assistant will help provide basic bedside nursing care for pediatric patients (all ages), including Orthopedics, General Surgery & Urology, Solid Organ Transplant and End Stage Renal Disease patients.
• In collaboration with the registered nurse, you may be responsible for obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, and oxygen saturation measurements, while identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
• Transporting patients, stocking of supplies and equipment as needed.
• The Clinical Assistant role provides the opportunity to practice in a family centered environment.
• Ability to work 4 shifts over a 6-week period. Both AM and PM shifts.

• 1-year CA experience, CNA certification, or Nursing Student with at least one clinical rotation.
• The ability to: exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain hospital policies and relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees.
• Good communication skills.
• The ability to work on a team.

• CNA certification (or 1-year CA experience & Nursing Student with at least one clinical rotation)

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
