Job Description Summary

The Materials Handler is responsible for the efficient and safe movement, storage, and retrieval of materials within Oxford Forge, Inc.'s facilities. This role ensures that production lines are adequately supplied and finished goods are properly prepared for shipment.

Job Responsibilities

* Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials, verifying quantities against purchase orders and identifying any discrepancies or damage.
* Accurately store materials in designated warehouse locations using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
* Pick and stage materials according to production schedules and work orders, ensuring timely delivery to manufacturing areas.
* Load finished products onto trucks and other transport vehicles, adhering to safety protocols and proper loading techniques.
* Maintain accurate inventory records by performing cycle counts and assisting with periodic physical inventories.
* Operate and perform routine inspections of material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
* Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards, following all safety regulations and company policies.
* Communicate effectively with production, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure smooth material flow.
* Assist with packaging, labeling, and quality checks of outgoing materials and products as needed.

Job Qualifications

* 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, preferably in a materials handling role.
* Proven ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Forklift certification preferred.
* Basic math skills and the ability to read and understand work orders and inventory documentation.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory and material movements.
* Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and stand for extended periods.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Commitment to safety protocols and adherence to all company policies.
* Familiarity with inventory management systems or basic computer skills is a plus.

* Self motivated in completing and allocating daily goals and objectives.
