Safety Manager - Santa Claus, IN

The Safety Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Safety and Security Management Systems

• Develops high levels of employee engagement
• Trends and drives the key Leading Indicators
• Responsible for developing and delivering Safety and Security training
• Coordinates completion of Lean Job Hazard Analysis
• Understands and promotes Behavior Based Safety
• Promotes the Safety Improvement programs
• Promotes continuous improvement
• Analyzes and trends indicators of injuries
• Assists with performing comprehensive injury investigations
• Manages workers compensation claims
• Supports compliance to OSHA and Kimball International standards
• Coordinates the Facility Security Program
• Understands and supports effective Local Emergency Response Teams (LERT)
• Understands and supports external certification programs (VPP and SHARPs)
• Assists in creating effective Safety teams
• Responsible to report all internal and external reporting requirements
• Maintains and updates written plans with annuals reviews
• Responsible for maintaining documentation of all required safety training.
• Maintains SDS sheets, both active and inactive
• Maintains safety files using the standard electronic filing format
• Support the Core Values and Corporate Goals of Kimball International.
• Supports 6S initiatives and Continuous Improvement

Required Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in environmental safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field (preferred).
• 2 years of related experience is preferred in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
