The Warehouse Manager directs and oversees large Distribution Center or Re-Supply operation personnel, as well as operational activities to include shipping, receiving, returns, carrier scheduling and dispatch, and replenishments. This position manages the workforce through the performance management process to build and maintain a high performing staff as well as lead and/or facilitate all efforts to strive towards operational excellence with a focus on improving performance in the key areas of safety, efficiency, and quality. The Warehouse Manager is also responsible for managing budgets and identifying creative ways to improve the overall productivity of the organization.


What You'll do
  • Plan and schedule all distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/ damaged goods, maintenance and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met; maintain ISO compliance.
  • Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules; develop and maintain a productive work team by creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development; match the skills and background of personnel to the work required; apply sound communication and motivational techniques; maintain an appropriate PMP process for recommending promotions, wage increases, and terminations.
  • Participate in budget preparation, revenue and account analysis; ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding warehouse operations.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and working condition of all equipment and oversee adjustments and/or repairs as necessary; develop, implement, and direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment, and property; provide safety instruction to personnel as needed; report all work-related injuries immediately; provide immediate medical attention to injured employees as necessary.
  • Manage programs to keep tools and equipment in designated areas; schedule cleaning of equipment; store products in neat conditions; maintain strict rodent and pest control; ensure compliance with appropriate government regulations.
  • Continually maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all customers; audit operations to ensure service standards are being met; establish customer relations programs and train all front-line personnel.
  • Ensure current and accurate inventory control.
  • Ensure that customer orders are picked up and shipped in a timely fashion within prescribed cost levels.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience managing warehouse operations, e.g. picking, packing, receiving, inventory, transportation, and customer service required.
  • Must be PC literate and have a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills: oral, written, and presentation; ability to communicate with all external/internal customers and peer groups.
  • Adaptable to new thinking and business demands - ability to think "out of the box" and respond quickly to changing conditions.
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs in a dynamically changing environment.
  • Ability to be a good mentor for coaching/training.
  • Ability to gather appropriate information and analyze it to develop and implement effective strategies.
  • Ability to delegate duties and empower others.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to be a team player.

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skills sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for this particular job posting. Please be advised that a different location may result in a different range. At Hilti, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $30.00/hr.- $40.00/hr. with bonus at target of $3,000 - $5,000.
