Job Summary: The NEIU Libraries is seeking a Library Specialist to provide user and support services at the reference desk, library tech desk, and Research & Publishing Lab (RLP) within the Ronald Williams Library. Typical tasks involve helping patrons navigate electronic resources, answering reference questions, scheduling and processing equipment loans, and resolving common technology challenges.The position requires providing high quality public service to a diverse community of library users. Candidates should have strong communication skills, experience working in customer service or library settings, and familiarity with common computer applications and research tools. Minimal Qualifications: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories: A. work experience in a library or equivalent setting. B. college course work in any field as measured by the following conversion table
Departmental Preferences:
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. Location: Ronald Williams Library (5500 North St. Louis Avenue, Chicago, IL 60625) This position requires a background check.
