This is a unique cross-disciplinary position that will work closely with a variety of groups including Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Microfluidics, QC, and Manufacturing, to develop and validate novel reagents for the rapid expansion of 10x product lines. Candidates must have a broad working knowledge of molecular biology and be able to apply that knowledge creatively and independently in a fast-paced work environment. Research experience with DNA oligos, antibody assays, RNA assays, and next generation sequencing (NGS) is desired. Experience in new product introduction and manufacturing operations is a big plus. This role requires a candidate who can be relied upon to produce consistent, high-quality data without needing daily tasks assigned.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Preparation, formulation, and testing of newly designed 10x reagents either from SOPs or R&D protocols.
  • Assist with reagent guard banding and stability studies.
  • Assist with new QC method development and implementation to assess reagent quality through a variety of analytical and functional tests.
  • Perform troubleshooting analysis of failed experiments and reagent issues as they arise in the product line.
  • Facilitate successful handoffs from R&D to Operations by training QC and Production staff on new workflows or methods.
  • Present your own work to internal stakeholders, providing clear explanations of methodology and data interpretation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, analytical chemistry, or related fields.
  • 3+ years (BS) or 2+ years (MS) of experience in reagent or assay development, preferably within the Biotech industry.
  • Deep understanding of molecular biology and hands-on experience with NGS library generation and data evaluation.
  • Mastery of analytical techniques including qPCR, nucleic acid isolation, and use of Bioanalyzers or real-time PCR instruments.
  • Ability to perform complex multi-step experiments with detailed and diligent attention to planning, organization, hands-on technique, and record keeping.
  • Experience troubleshooting molecular biology-based assays.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Desire to work in a flexible and fast-paced startup environment.
