Respiratory Therapist - Home Medical Equipment Vent Specialist
The Respiratory Therapist is a licensed professional who provides direct and indirect patient care under a provider's orders and in compliance with the policies and procedures of Mercyhealth at Home, professional standards, and regulatory and accreditation requirements. The Respiratory Therapist Home Medical Equipment Ventilation Specialist provides Respiratory Care services to patients in their homes, clinics, or at one of the Mercyhealth at Home locations. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for establishing and implementing care plans, educating patients/caregivers and evaluating progress toward goals. The scope of responsibility of this position includes acting as a resource for Mercyhealth at Home staff and referral sources, as well as performing patient intake, order entry, insurance authorization and medical documentation processes. Regulatory compliance to optimize the organization's revenue cycle is vital to the organization's success. Customer satisfaction is critical, and this position requires eye to detail and organization with a systemwide approach. This position follows the mission and vision of Mercyhealth. Responsibilities Job Duties:
Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program Minimum three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience providing critical care for complex respiratory patients. Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist Licensed by the State of Wisconsin or Illinois at time of hire; dual-licensed within 6 months of hire Approved CPR or BLS Passing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.
