GRAEF is a multi-disciplinary planning, design and engineering firm, started in 1961, with over 300 employees, headquartered in Milwaukee. GRAEF's stated core purpose is to improve the physical environment for the benefit of society in a sustainable manner. We are looking for an innovative and creative senior level landscape architect to join our team of intellectually and technically talented colleagues.

Our group includes experts in landscape architecture and urban design, master planning and environmental design. As a Senior Landscape Architect, you would provide input on strategy, business development, and technical direction, with a focus on the importance of landscape architecture, urban design and sustainability. Our team members have advanced degrees, licensures, registrations, and related credentials. From our corporate headquarters in Milwaukee, we also collaborate with team members across our 9 offices in the Midwest and Florida providing landscape architecture design expertise regionally and nationally.

This position will provide the candidate personal and professional growth as well as have the opportunity to grow the practice of landscape architecture in the Milwaukee office and the other regional offices.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:



  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in landscape architecture.
  • Minimum of 8 years of applicable design experience.
  • Previous project management experience required.
  • Experience with business development activities such as marketing, proposals and client development.
  • Professional licensure required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD Civil 3D or Revit, and / or GIS software desired.
  • Good communication skills and a proven track record in successfully interacting with clients and internal team members are necessary.
  • Experience in mentoring staff.
  • Excellence in written communication, quantitative analysis, graphic design, urban design, presenting, and critical thinking skills.
