Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Tool Fabricator to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

As a Mid-Level Tool Fabricator, you will play a critical role in supporting the aerospace manufacturing process at Aurora Flight Sciences. Your primary responsibilities will involve the setup, maintenance, fabrication, and inspection of precision tools and fixtures required for the assembly of aerospace parts and products. You will work closely with engineering, production, and tooling team to ensure tools meet functional and quality requirements. Training and guidance will be provided to ensure success in the role.

- Perform required tool set up, maintenance, inspection and modifications.
- Make repairs to damaged manufacturing tooling.
- Follow established processes and standards to ensure tools meet production requirements and quality parameters.
- Manufacture assembly tools and fixtures per engineering specifications using appropriate precision tools and machinery (e.g., mills, lathes, CNC machines, etc.).
- Work within the Tool Fabrication team to manufacture and assemble tools used for company programs.
- Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required.
- Work with Tool Design engineers to resolve problems with tooling to produce acceptable parts and assemblies.

Minimum Requirements

- Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent
combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).
- Must have the ability to work from tool drawings, sketches and verbal instructions.
- Familiar with GD&T.
- Familiar with standard machining practices and able to operate turning and milling machines.
- Must be a US Person.

Preferred Requirements

- Vocational certificate or associate degree in machining, fabrication, or mechanical engineering.
- Experience programming CNC machines.
- Experience running CNC machines.
- Experience with inspection metrology.
- Basic computer skills- including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications.
- Welding.
- Fork Lift operator.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.
- Lift and transport objects up to 35 pounds; consistently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb, and kneel.
- Work in adverse conditions and traverse between buildings.
- Work onsite in Bridgeport, WV.

Salary Range (Annualized USD)

  • Minimum Range: $45,000.00 to $79,000.00
  • Maximum Range: $52,000.00 to $92,000.00
