Overview

This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. Three days a week in office.

First Citizens Bank is growing our Strategic Workforce Planning team and is looking for a Business Analyst to bring data insights into our existing and emerging talent practices!

This position will directly support the Strategic Workforce Planning Team through performing advanced data analysis to identify trends and insights related to associate skills and capabilities, capacity and demand forecasting, and tracking of gap mitigation activities. This role will partner closely with program leads to assess current business needs and practices, collecting information to improve processes and creating specifications to support a holistic view of workforce capabilities. This role will translate process inputs into data outputs and prepare reports for varying levels of Management illustrating summarized data and trends.

The ideal candidate is strong in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis, detail oriented, and has prior experience preparing summary materials (dashboards, written insights, etc.). Prior experience in Human Resources functions is considered a plus but is not required.


Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Analyzes data for accuracy and efficiencies, effectively communicates analysis output.
  • Reporting - Produces reports based on data analysis, industry trends, and process capabilities. Can identify patterns, problems, and areas of improvement.
  • Operational Support - Provides daily support for business operations by responding to inquiries, identifying issues, and working to improve standard practices. Assists in implementing recommended modifications and enhancements. May serve as an analytics resource to wider organization or business units.
  • Identifying Objectives - Determines business needs through analysis and reporting. Suggests strategies to achieve company and department goals. Assists in creating specifications, project plans, or other forms of documentation to communicate business initiatives to wider work group.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience in System Support or Analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 7 years of experience in System Support or Analytics

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in a similar data-driven role, collecting, organizing, interpreting, and presenting quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Possesses the ability to uncover patterns, trends, and develop digestible insights that can aid in decision making, problem-solving, and informing the overall strategy.

Advanced proficiency in the following areas:

  • Microsoft Office products, with a strong focus on Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI
  • Communication (written and verbal): Conveys information, ideas, and messages through both written and spoken mediums; actively listens to others to facilitate clear and concise interactions with stakeholders
  • Data Analysis, Data Visualization, and Business Intelligence: Collects, organizes, interprets, and presents quantitative and qualitative data to uncover patterns, trends, and digestible insights that can aid in decision making, problem-solving, and informing the overall strategy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Works toward continuously improving products, services, or processes. Plans and implements change. Checks data to analyze the results of the change and whether it made a difference, implementing it on a wider scale if effective.
  • Interpersonal and Collaboration Skills: Strives to build strong working relationships with those on their team as well as cross-functional relationships; actively participates in group discussions and problem-solving activities; brings people with different opinions and roles together to get "win/win" results; modifies plans and opinions, based on the input of others.
  • Driving for Results: Demonstrates the personal drive to achieve results that deliver value-added contributions and a positive impact on the organization's success metrics.
