Overview

The Calibration Technician is responsible for performing calibration of test instruments which assure measurement accuracy within the Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures that all equipment measurement accuracy and supporting data meet the company's high standards of performance, repeatability, and compliance. The Calibration Technician collaborates closely with the quality and operations teams to mitigate equipment down-time, generate accurate calibration data, and ensure proper identification of calibration status.

Salary: $24- $28/hr DOE



Responsibilities

* Generate and verify calibration certification data
* Initiate and support corrective actions for out of tolerance conditions
* Support calibration-related inquiries from lab personnel
* Perform simple and complex calibrations (e.g. dimensional, force, alignment, temperature, dynamic verifications)
* Perform other related duties, as assigned by the Calibration Supervisor



Skills / Qualifications

* 2-year associate degree in a science or technical discipline or equivalent experience
* Experience interpreting calibration procedures and requirements required
* Experience in test equipment maintenance a plus
* Ability to repeatedly lift a minimum of 45lbs safely
* Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
* Familiarity with statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and measurement uncertainty principles
* Familiarity with and ability to interpret Quality Management System accreditation standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 17025
* Work independently and effectively with little supervision
* Able to prioritize work and keep key stakeholders informed of progress
* Adept with delegating tasks to lab and/or management personnel in support of quality compliance activities
* Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events/projects in the community, with customers and within the company
* Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
* Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs
* Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
Work Environment
The Calibration Technician operates in a professional technical environment that may include laboratory, office, and production settings. This role requires frequent collaboration with laboratory technicians, maintenance, and quality teams to monitor and improve equipment calibration performance.
* Physical Requirements:
o May occasionally lift or move materials up to 45 pounds.
o Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and computer work.
* Work Conditions:
o Standard business hours with flexibility to support testing schedules or audits as needed.
o May involve working around laboratory instruments, testing equipment, or other controlled materials (following all applicable safety protocols).
o Work may include exposure to moderate noise, temperature variations, and laboratory environments requiring use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
