Role
Under general supervision, supports the preparation and analysis of rates and rate models for financial planning, reporting, and control.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assists in reviewing existing rates to ensure alignment with company policy and expectations.
- Supports analysis of proposals or applications for rate changes by gathering data and preparing initial summaries.
- Assists in preparing basic analyses for regulatory filings related to new rate applications.
- Compiles and reviews rate information to support evaluating current and projected financial performance.
- Helps maintain databases and spreadsheets used in analyzing rate structures and potential changes.
- Identifies basic trends in data and provides observations to senior analysts.
- Assists in updating and formatting revised rate schedules.
- Coordinates with regulatory staff and external consultants under direction of senior team members.
- Prepares routine and ad hoc reports as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, or related field preferred.
- Two to Four years of experience in financial analysis, data analysis, or a related analytical role preferred (internships or coursework may be considered).
- Strong analytical and Excel skills; ability to learn financial models with guidance.
- Strong attention to detail.
