Job Purpose and Reporting Structure: Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Community Services oversees the development, implementation, and administration of Community Services and Behavioral Health Programs, to include but not limited to: Targeted Case Management, Crisis Care Management, PATH, Street Outreach; Rapid Re-Housing, SOAR, and Benefit Enrollment. The Director of Community Services represents the agency in partnership with all levels of service and funding in accordance with the applicable federal, state, local laws and agency's mission, goals, policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the Community Services staff to ensure seamless integration and delivery of services to the agency's clients.
  • Attend, lead and actively participate in program meetings. Attend, actively participate and represent the agency in meetings and training events outside of the agency. i.e., festivals, health fairs in the community and presentation of agency programs to other providers, grantee meetings & community events.
  • Assist in the development of grant and management applications within the area of Community Services and Behavioral Health, and other areas as assigned.
  • Maintain technical competency and act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquires and problems related to Community Services and Behavioral Health Programs.
  • Coordinate all programs to ensure maximum utilization of resources and integration of services to clients.
  • Provide on-call services as required on compliance with the county and state mental health standards
  • Ensure & maintain compliance with all programs, licensure, client confidentiality laws, and grant management requirements. This includes the timely submission of program reports to all funders.
  • Develop and monitor all Community Service program budgets, ensuring management of the budget with budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Provide training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the organization's standards of quality, quantity and safety consistent with the organization's policies and procedures. Lead continuous quality improvement practices for all programs


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Requires a minimum of a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or Business; and five to ten years of related experience, two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
