Pay Range: $89,000 - $126,000

This individual will effectively serve as the Manufacturing Systems Integration Engineer and be a key member of the company's engineering team. This position will be responsible for providing system and process design expertise to deliver integrated systems to support manufacturing and supply chain processes. Focus on special projects, advancing TSI technology advantage via engineering tools, systems and equipment. This role partners with both Development and Manufacturing teams, utilizing agreed and standard technologies to deliver custom equipment and optimization of designs for compatibility with manufacturing systems and technology. The Manufacturing Systems Integration Engineer will function as individual contributor, design engineer, automation engineer, integration engineer, operations engineer, trainer, troubleshooter, and part change management/change leadership. The individual that works in this role can expect to work across functions.

What You'll Do (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):



  • Develop and conduct engineering projects which will provide manufacturing solutions consistent with solid Lean Quality Control principles that provide a high level of process control.
  • Develop and apply new measurement methods and systems to current products/mfg to improve knowledge of product quality status.
  • Apply manufacturing processes through system designs and integrations.
  • Develop manufacturing equipment, methods, and controls to support and improve mfg, data collection and product quality.
  • Act as project manager for equipment development, trials, run off, installation and qualification.
  • Calculate production costs that include equipment, time and labor.
  • Evaluate and discuss systems failures with plant managers and non-technical personnel
  • Identify methods of improving the productivity of existing systems, taking into consideration the use of latest technology.
  • Source new suppliers of industrial equipment.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Develop product specifications, define manufacturing specifications, and arrange for purchase of custom equipment to meet product manufacturing needs according to specifications and quality standards after consulting with Development.
  • Work with planning and design staff on product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Become involved in all aspects of the design, integration, and implementation of Manufacturing System while interfacing with Development and Production engineering, manufacturing and process engineering, IT systems, equipment maintenance, and manufacturing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need (Qualifications):



  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
  • Leader with 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a consumer package goods industry.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of project planning and management skills - Ability to set project goals, milestones, allocate and prioritize resources, activities and timetables
  • Evidence of mechanical sympathy and aptitude preferred.
  • Experience with Database and PLC application and development.
  • In depth systems technology skills across multiple platforms and technologies.
  • Excellent communication, team, and project management skills
