Network Administrator (Information Technology Department)



We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator to manage and secure our network infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, implementing robust security measures, and driving continuous improvements to support business operations.



JOB SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Technical Services Manager and has primary responsibility for the administration of the network infrastructure and network security. This position is responsible for evaluating the current network infrastructure, maintaining all networking components to ensure optimal efficiency and performance, and recommending and implementing improvements. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining the appropriate network security protocols, configurations, and processes to protect from internal and external threats.

The position typically involves regular shifts with weekends off. The position is a natural escalation point for on-call technicians; as a result, occasional off-hour calls are to be expected. Several network components will require after-hours updates and maintenance, with a monthly maintenance window outside of normal working hours.



JOB DUTIES:

1. Provides regular management and monitoring of all network equipment, including (but not limited to) firewalls, routers, switches, servers, WiFi, and related network components.
2. Assesses and evaluates a variety of inputs, including threat intelligence feeds, product advisories, and industry best practices, to maintain network and server security protocols and configurations to protect the village from internal and external threats.
3. Assists in developing short and long-range recommendations for networking needs (i.e., analysis of equipment, repairs, maintenance contracts, etc.).
4. Assists with the design and implementation of disaster recovery, incident response, and business continuity operations.
5. Research and advise management on enhancements/new releases of hardware and software technology.
6. Ensures vital network systems are backed up regularly. Responsible for backups, restorations, and backup configurations of network and security systems.
7. Creates documentation on how and when servers, network equipment, and security systems are changed or upgraded.
8. Performs needs assessments to ensure appropriate justification for improvements and/or modifications.
9. Coordinates with and works through various vendors and consultants for network-related projects.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
2. A minimum of three years of experience with firewall and networking products with advanced knowledge of network technologies and protocols.
3. Possession of a valid driver's license.
4. Proficiency with current computer technology, job-specific software, and customer service systems.



STARTING SALARY RANGE: $101,295.00 - $124,087.00annually dependent on qualifications.The salary range for this position is $101,295.00 -$146,879.00.
