Exciting Opportunity at MSK : Community Engagement Manager - New Jersey

At Memorial Sloan Kettering, the Community Engagement Manager - New Jersey role strengthens trusted relationships across diverse community networks to advance cancer awareness, education, and long-term partnership development. The position builds sustainable civic and organizational connections that expand MSK's future collaboration opportunities while supporting inclusive engagement across underserved and high-impact communities.

Role Overview

  • Build long-term partnerships with community organizations such as churches, civic groups, and nonprofit organizations to advance cancer awareness initiatives.

  • Develop professional networks focused on relationship cultivation rather than direct marketing of MSK services.

  • Establish trusted partnerships that create future collaboration pipelines across community stakeholders.

  • Engage government, municipal, and civic organizations to strengthen public-sector relationships and advocacy alignment.

  • Represent MSK at community meetings, events, and regional forums to maintain consistent visibility and engagement.

  • Identify opportunities to connect MSK with diverse community leaders and professional organizations.

  • Expand outreach across broad geographic regions to ensure equitable community coverage and accessibility.

  • Build inroads with Black, Hispanic, and other underrepresented communities through culturally responsive engagement.

  • Maintain ongoing relationship tracking, follow-up, and partnership development to support long-term impact.

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement, government relations, public affairs, or external partnership development.

  • Proven ability to cultivate and sustain professional networks across civic, nonprofit, and community organizations.

  • Experience creating events and other engagement opportunities for diverse populations and culturally diverse community groups.

  • Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and partnership strategy development.

  • Ability to manage a geographically distributed portfolio of partnerships and community engagements.

  • Relationship-building and trust development across diverse community stakeholders.

  • Event planning and project management

  • Strategic networking and partnership cultivation.

  • Adaptability and independence in dynamic, field-based environments.

  • Clear communication, diplomacy, and professional presence in external settings.

  • Spanish and other language fluency a plus

Additional Information:

  • Location: Hybrid; primarily in field across several locations in New Jersey

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday with flexibility for weekends and evenings as needed. Flexible schedule to offset (40 hour workweek)

  • Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing & Communication

Pay Range: $90,700.00 - $145,300.00 FSLA Status: Exempt
