This is a technical leadership role where you'll design and implement security solutions, lead incident response efforts, and continuously strengthen our infrastructure across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.
What You'll Work On
- Engineering and implementing modern security controls across endpoints, identities, email, and cloud platforms
- Tuning and optimizing Microsoft Defender XDR, Huntress MDR, and Microsoft Sentinel SIEM
- Leading technical response during cybersecurity incidents - from investigation through remediation
- Designing secure infrastructure and network configurations aligned with zero trust principles
- Developing detection logic, playbooks, and automation to improve response speed and resilience
- Supporting regulatory exams and audits through strong technical design and documentation
- Strengthening backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies
What You Bring
- 8+ years in cybersecurity, systems engineering, or infrastructure roles
- Hands-on experience with EDR/XDR and SIEM platforms (Microsoft ecosystem preferred)
- Strong network security knowledge - firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, secure access
- Proven experience responding to real security incidents
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
Bonus Points
- PowerShell, Python, or automation scripting
- Financial services, credit union, banking, or healthcare background
- Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, Security+, Microsoft Security)
- Zero trust or identity-centric security experience
You'll Thrive Here If You...
- Like building solutions, not just watching dashboards
- Stay calm and methodical when incidents happen
- Can explain technical risk clearly to leaders and partners
- Enjoy working independently but value collaboration
- Want your work to directly impact people and communities
Top 5 Reasons to Apply
- Make a Real Impact: Your work directly protects members' financial security and personal data. This isn't theoretical security - you'll help safeguard real people and communities.
- Hands-On Engineering - Not Just Monitoring: Design and implement security solutions, improve infrastructure, and lead technical incident response. This role focuses on building and improving - not just watching dashboards.
- Influence Security Strategy: You'll work closely with Technology leadership and help shape how security evolves across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments in a regulated financial institution.
- Mission-Driven Culture with Modern Technology Focus: Join a collaborative organization that values security as a strategic priority while still providing the stability and purpose of a credit union environment.
- Remote Flexibility with Meaningful Collaboration: Work remotely while staying connected through intentional in-person team meetings and collaborative cross-functional work.
