Job Description

TheInstructordelivers structured life-skills, work-readiness, literacy, and financial empowerment workshops toWeCAREparticipants whilemaintaininga professional, supportive learning environment. TheInstructorcollaborates closely withallVRS staff to support participant skill development, job-readiness, and progression toward employment or training pathways.

EssentialResponsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction and workshops in an organized, professional, and engaging manner.

  • Documentclientinteractionscase notes and provide updates as needed.

  • Facilitate customized and contextualized literacy workshops that support job readiness and successful job search strategies.

  • Discuss sector-specific requirements, industry standards, and employer expectations with clients.

  • Plan, organize, and deliver training activities in compliance with HRA and program requirements.

  • Assistclients inidentifyingemployers, skill-building opportunities, and programs aligned with their career goals.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and suggest revisions to content as needed to meet quality and performance standards.

  • Educate participants on their cashassistancebenefits, budgeting, and transitioning from publicassistanceto self-sufficiency.

  • Apply motivational techniques to increaseprobabilityof individual success as well as meeting program outcomes.

  • Consult with vocational rehabilitation and employment services staffregardingcurriculum and training needs.

  • Work with job development staff in identifying job-ready individuals for employment opportunities.

  • Assistwith timekeeping by ensuring that all on-site and virtual attendance and engagementisaccurately recorded.

  • Liaise with outreach and timekeeping staff to ensure that all missed appointments are properly accounted forin a timely mannerand that all excused absences are accurately recorded.

Qualifications
  • ABachelor's degree ineducation,socialservicesor related field from an accredited institutionrequiredand3-5 years of experience in training, education or career development in the workforce development field career counseling or a combination of relevant course work or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to be patient and sensitive to individuals with disabilities

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience in a fast-paced, team environment that is performance driven

  • Exceptional customer service and engagement skills; prefer training or experience in motivational interviewing and care management techniques

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

  • Experience withpublicly-fundedprograms; TANF experience preferable

  • Experience in assessing the need for and making reasonable accommodations for customers

  • Knowledge of laws and regulatory requirements related to program responsibilities

  • Ability to use various electronic systems to carry out duties and responsibilities

  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred
