Summary: The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing all installation and construction activities for MWP projects, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design intent, customer expectations, and contractual obligations. This role serves as the operational backbone of MWP's installation function-coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, mitigating risk, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to standard. As MWP scales, the Construction Manager plays a critical role in standardizing construction processes and reducing variability across projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Responsibilities
- Own, maintain, and continuously improve MWP's construction and installation operating model with a focus on scalability, consistency, efficiency, and risk reduction.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Design, and Operations to ensure project scope, timelines, and customer expectations are clearly defined prior to execution.
- Establish and maintain standardized construction workflows, documentation, tools, and best practices.
- Identify systemic issues related to scheduling, subcontractor performance, job costing, or scope clarity and proactively recommend and implement improvements.
- Support leadership with construction capacity planning, subcontractor strategy, and long-term resource planning.
- Serve as a steward of field safety, quality standards, and overall customer experience throughout project execution.
Operational Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of construction and installation activities from project kickoff through closeout.
- Determine required resources (labor, equipment, materials) while balancing budgetary, scheduling, and site-specific constraints.
- Coordinate and confirm:
- Site readiness and conditions (access, staging, excavation, borders, etc.)
- Delivery and staging of materials and equipment
- Subcontractor schedules and sequencing
- Integration with other site work (concrete, restoration, surfacing, etc.)
- Manage subcontractor relationships, performance, accountability, and issue resolution.
- Conduct site walk-throughs, inspections, and punch-list management to ensure quality standards are met.
- Proactively address scheduling conflicts, field issues, and customer concerns to minimize project disruption.
- Ensure timely and accurate project closeout, documentation, and handoff.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date project information within core systems and tools.
- Support job costing accuracy and provide feedback loops to improve estimating and design clarity.
Education and/or Experience:
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in construction, installation, or project management roles, with increasing responsibility for project execution, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects from kickoff through closeout, including oversight of subcontractors and third-party vendors.
- Proven ability to coordinate construction activities across cross-functional teams, including Sales, Design, Operations, and external partners.
- Experience operating in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments where schedule adherence, quality, and customer satisfaction are critical.
- Hands-on experience identifying and resolving field issues, scheduling conflicts, and scope-related challenges.
- Experience supporting or contributing to process improvement, standardization, or scalability initiatives within construction or installation operations.
- Working knowledge of job costing, scheduling, and project tracking tools, with the ability to maintain accurate project data and support estimating and budgeting efforts.
- Experience interpreting and executing work based on construction drawings, specifications, and site plans.
- Exposure to safety standards, quality control practices, and regulatory requirements applicable to construction and installation environments.
Travel:
- Regular travel to project sites is required to support installation and construction activities.
- Travel is primarily regional and typically includes day trips, with occasional overnight travel as needed based on project location and schedule.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), with the ability to create, review, and manage project documentation, schedules, and reports.
