DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Mechanical Engineer Consultant, you will serve as a Mechanical Engineer Consultant responsible for the technical development of mechanical design solutions and facility programs supporting the PA National Guard and Office of Veterans' Affairs. The employee is responsible for developing guidelines and procedures for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design, facility operations and maintenance plans, building commissioning, building management systems, and energy management to reduce operation and maintenance (O&M) costs, conserve energy, and promote a desirable working environment. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, 4 days out of 10 days. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years as a Mechanical Engineer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of professional mechanical engineering experience which required work on any structural mechanical system.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
- You must be in possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
Other Requirements:
- You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
- You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:

- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
