DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment that supports an entire facility. This includes chillers, boilers, pumping systems, cooling towers, and other related HVAC equipment. Your duties will include:
- Maintain, inspect, repair, and install HVAC systems and equipment.
- Perform equipment assessments to determine the useful life of equipment by reviewing preventative maintenance repair history, BAS alarm history, and performing visual inspections.
- Identify and troubleshoot problems related to HVAC systems.
- Access and navigate BAS Systems to diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system performance issues.

- Note: This position is considered an essential employee. You will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the HVAC and Building Automation Technician trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems, units, and equipment including one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls.
Special Requirements:
- You must possess an active motor vehicle license.
- You must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
