General Summry We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented Research Assistant to join our new Precision Airway Mapping & Stenting research team. The position focuses on novel techniques for airway mapping and implant testing, with an emphasis on developing and validating ex vivo and in vivo models to advance airway stent innovation. Research Focus This role contributes to a program aimed at developing nextgeneration airway stents to address Tracheobronchomalacia and excessive airway collapse. By integrating ex vivo tissue platforms and in vivo porcine models, the research seeks to evaluate stent performance, biocompatibility, and longterm safety. Key responsibilities Maintain and manage tissue samples for acute and chronic ex vivo experiments. Assist and conduct acute and chronic benchtop experiments. Assist and manage large animal experiments, including survival studies with pigs. Collect, analyze, and document experimental data with precision and accuracy. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of engineers, clinicians, and scientists. Ensure compliance with institutional animal care and use protocols, biosafety regulations, and ethical standards. Minimum Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biology, and/or Physiology or related fields. Experince Prior laboratory experience in cell or tissue culture techniques and airway-related research experience is a plus. Experience or willingness to be trained in large animal model work. Fluent in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Excellent communication skills for documenting and presenting research findings. The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
