Job Summary The Community Engagement Manager is a key member of the Goodwill Foundation team and plays a vital role in advancing Goodwill's mission through volunteer engagement, in-kind donations, and community partnerships. This role leads the strategy, coordination, and growth of Goodwill's volunteer programs and community engagement initiatives, building meaningful connections that enhance the organization's visibility, strengthen its brand, and expand its base of support. This position reports to the Director, Community Engagement, and works closely with internal departments and leadership to identify and support areas of need across the organization. Example Duties and Activities
Partners with internal departments and executive leadership to identify and support areas of volunteer opportunity and community engagement. Manages, schedules, trains, and stewards volunteers and corporate/community groups to meet the agency's growing needs. Conducts regular volunteer orientation sessions and ongoing training as needed on policies, procedures, and best practices. Builds and maintains relationships with individual volunteers, corporate partners, and community organizations to strengthen engagement and expand participation. Develops and executes an annual volunteer program plan and strategy, aligning with organizational priorities and community needs. Coordinates volunteer recognition and stewardship activities, including appreciation events and ongoing communications. Collaborates with the Development and Communications team to prepare and distribute volunteer newsletters and maintain updated volunteer mailing lists.Manages the process for receiving, organizing, and tracking in-kind donations; maintains a clean and efficient donation center and related storage areas. Inputs and maintains volunteer and donor data in Bloomerang or similar CRM systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Compiles and submits monthly volunteer and engagement reports. Represents Goodwill at community fairs, corporate engagement events, and speaking opportunities to share the organization's story and promote involvement. Partners with Grants and Program Strategy teams to identify opportunities for funding volunteer initiatives or addressing program needs. Assists with or leads community and agency events such as volunteer drives, employee engagement activities, and donor appreciation experiences.

Industry Expertise - Experience managing volunteer programs, community partnerships, or donor engagement activities within a nonprofit setting. Demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, and retain volunteers and community partners. Building Collaborative Relationships -Skilled in developing and managing donor relationships through all stages of the donor cycle, with a proven ability to secure philanthropic support. Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships at all levels with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support. Is able to receive as well as provide feedback to improve performance or processes; builds and maintains customer satisfaction. Communication Skills - Articulates thoughts and expresses ideas effectively using oral, written, visual, and non-verbal communication skills, as well as listening skills to comprehend others' needs. Delivers information in person, in writing, and in a digital world. Liaison - Acts as the internal and external communicator who facilitates a close working relationship between people or organizations. Listens to the specific needs and desires of potential donors and volunteers, and crafts partnerships that serve the donor and organization in equal portions. Technical Knowledge - Has proficient knowledge of G Suite, MS Office, database mining and management, and Internet searching. Prior Raiser's Edge and/or Salesforce knowledge is an additional plus. Ethical - Adheres to procedures and protocol, including maintaining confidentiality in passwords, logging on and off procedures, and adherence to Goodwill's values. Protects information that is not yet public.
Other Requirements
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings and weekends to accommodate volunteer events and community activities. Is willing to travel to meet donors'/prospects at locations convenient to them and to represent the Foundation at donor events. Background Screening - All candidates must pass a pre-employment background check. Must have a valid driver's license, up-to-date auto insurance, and a good driving record.
