    • Shift: Monday through Friday - 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

    • Location: Key West Naval Base

    • Hourly Rate: $18.75, variable housing allowance of $1.75, ancillary allowance of $1.05, and an additional offset earning at $3.45 for each hour worked. Your total compensation will be $25.00 for each hour worked.




We're looking for a confident, handson commercial Landscaping Tractor Operator who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in wellkept properties, and knows how to handle equipment with skill and care.



  • Operate tractors and a variety of attachments, including mowing decks, loaders, aerators, tillers, snow blowers, sweepers, and grading blades to complete commercial landscaping tasks.

  • Perform largearea mowing for fields, road edges, parks, commercial campuses, and other expansive properties with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Transport soil, mulch, gravel, debris, and equipment using tractor buckets, trailers, or forks.

  • Conduct site preparation by grading, leveling, and preparing land for planting, seeding, sod installation, or constructionrelated landscaping.

  • Perform snow and ice management by operating plows, blowers, and sand/salt spreaders during winter months.

  • Assist with irrigation work, including trenching and supporting installation or repair of irrigation lines using tractor attachments.

  • Complete daily equipment inspections, checking fluids, tires, blades, hydraulics, and safety systems before operation.

  • Perform basic mechanical upkeep such as cleaning equipment, sharpening blades, greasing fittings, and reporting or repairing minor issues.

  • Keep work areas clean and safe by removing debris, securing tools, and maintaining orderly job sites.

  • Assist landscaping crews with planting, mulching, trimming, edging, and general groundskeeping when not operating equipment.

  • Support landscape installation through layout assistance, bed preparation, and material placement.

  • Document daily work activities, equipment inspections, and fuel usage.

  • Coordinate with supervisors to receive assignments, report hazards, and communicate equipment needs.


What You Need to be Successful:



  • Experience operating tractors and heavy landscaping equipment in commercial, municipal, or largeproperty settings.

  • Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or outdoor labor-intensive work.

  • Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices, soil preparation, and turf care.

  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and safe equipment practices.

  • Strong understanding of tractor controls, hydraulics, and attachments.

  • Valid RealID

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

  • Familiarity with seasonal operations such as mowing, grading, snow removal, or site preparation.

  • Strong problemsolving skills for onsite adjustments, terrain challenges, and equipment issues.

  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, crew members, and clients.

  • Timemanagement skills to complete tasks efficiently across multiple job sites.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, site plans, and safety guidelines.

  • Ability to maintain focus, situational awareness, and safe operation over long work periods.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods throughout the workday.

  • Requires sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle tools and perform detailed tasks.

  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.

  • May involve exposure to dust, pollen, fertilizers, and other landscaping materials or chemicals.

  • Requires visual acuity to inspect work quality, identify hazards, and ensure safety compliance.

  • Must be able to hear and respond to verbal instructions, equipment sounds, and environmental cues.

  • Involves navigating uneven terrain, slopes, and potentially slippery or muddy surfaces.

  • May require wearing personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and boots.
