With HDR's continued expansion, we have an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager on a part-time basis to lead transportation design projects throughout the state, primarily in eastern North Carolina. This is a growth position for the right candidate looking to make the next step in their career and build a high performing group.

Primary Responsibilities
* Management of NCDOT transportation design projects
* Project management on large-scale contracts for non-conventional and conventional projects for area clients
* Establish and maintain client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
* Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on state highway systems
* Project management duties and client interaction
* Participate in reviews with various governing agencies
* Work across multiple business groups and market sectors
* Work with area leadership in planning, managing, and coordinating opportunities for staff across the area and region.
* Conduct work sessions for design development and contract document in conjunction with other staff
* Coordinate workload throughout entire project development, and ensure completion of documents on schedule
* Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule
* Work with Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and Area Manager for project reviews and with company management as needed
* Develop, manage, and supervise work of a staff of design professionals and technicians
* Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications
* 15 years experience in all aspects of engineering and/or planning
* PE license; ability to obtain PE license in NC
* Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, and site planning
* Experience with InRoads, Microsoft Office applications
* Prior project experience working with NCDOT
* Demonstrated leadership skills

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
