A Day in the Life

The Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of large-scale, strategic projects within an organization. They ensure projects align with organizational goals, manage resources, timelines, and budgets, and mitigate risks to achieve project objectives. Additionally, they coordinate cross-functional teams and maintain effective communication with stakeholders to ensure project success.

A typical day as a Project Manager might include the following:

  • Leads and coordinates detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timeline, budget, and resource requirements.Identifies and coordinates the allocation of necessary resources (personnel, equipment, and materials) and workload distribution
  • Prepares and monitors project budgets, ensuring that expenditures stay within approved limits.
  • Identifies potential project risks and develops mitigation strategies.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication channels with the PMO and other stakeholders on project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Tracks project performance using appropriate metrics and project management tools.
  • Ensures project activities comply with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Implements quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Maintains comprehensive up-to-date project documentation, including plans, reports, meeting minutes, and is accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Adapts project plans promptly to accommodate approved changes and resolve project issues.
  • Fosters a collaborative and productive team environment to project team members.
  • Conducts post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement to establish best practices for future projects.
  • Ensures timely and accurate performance on assigned projects.
  • Maintains compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.

Who You Are

  • You have Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or a related field -Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Project Manager (CPM) or other project management certification preferred.
  • You have 5+ years of experience in project management required. Previous business analyst or business process management experience preferred.
  • You have understanding of quality assurance principles and quality control processes related to project deliverables.
  • You can effectively allocate, manage, and optimize project resources including personnel, time, materials, and budget.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying information, leading meetings, and building strong client relationships.
  • You have in-depth expertise in Agile methodologies, including Agile principles, frameworks, and delivery practices.
  • You have understanding of the project lifecycle from initiation to closure, including planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling phases.
  • You have understanding of change management principles and strategies to handle project changes effectively.
  • You are familiar project management tools and software such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or other PMO-specific systems.
  • You have well-rounded knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems, database fundamentals and computer software.
  • You can lead project teams, foster collaboration, and negotiate to resolve conflicts.
  • You have strong critical thinking skills to evaluate situations, gather information, and make informed decisions when confronted with changing project requirements and unexpected challenges.
  • You have knowledge of risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring techniques.
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks, determine their potential impact, and develop risk response strategies.
  • You have strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks, while working on multiple projects.
  • You can actively listen and interpret business objectives to derive technical requirements.
  • You can work independently with minimal supervision.

Compensation

$90,000 - $120,000. Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
