What You Will Do

Trimble is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Field Sales Representative to become part of our energetic sales team. This role focuses on the sale of geospatial hardware and software solutions to US Federal Government Civilian agencies and Native American Tribes. You will focus on maintaining current customer relationships and developing new business opportunities. The candidate will be responsible for creating and executing sales strategies to meet both immediate and long-term business goals within the specified market.

The candidate will be tasked with nurturing and expanding relationships with key government agencies within the civilian side of the US Federal Government. You will ensure our geospatial hardware and software solutions-including total stations, GPS/GNSS, LIDAR scanners, and related software-align with their requirements. A central aspect of the role involves showcasing and selling these solutions. Furthermore, the candidate will seek out and capitalize on new business opportunities within the Federal Civilian sector, utilizing their proficiency in government sales, geospatial hardware, and comprehensive software.

Collaboration is crucial, and the candidate will engage remotely with cross-functional, geographically-disbursed teams to guarantee customer satisfaction. Success in this direct contributor role hinges on achieving and surpassing established sales targets with the candidate's efforts being integral to the sales team's overall success. Delivering outstanding customer service is of utmost importance along with crafting and presenting persuasive sales presentations and demonstrations.

To aid the candidate's initiatives, they will consistently update CRM systems with customer details, sales activities, and opportunities, ensuring all data remains current and actionable. The role includes traveling to meet customers and participating in industry events to reinforce Trimble's presence and reputation in the industry.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • Sales and Industry Expertise: Proven experience in government sales and/or selling geospatial solutions. Understanding of the government acquisition lifecycle and potential/preferred contract vehicles. Knowledge of data collection hardware, including optical total stations, GPS/GNSS, and LIDAR scanners and/or knowledge of GIS.

    • Experience selling cloud, SaaS, or software solutions and familiarity with FedRAMP is preferred.

    • Experience selling to Native American Indian Tribes is a plus

  • Relationship Building and Communication: Ability to build rapport with prospects and clients. Excellent sales, negotiation, and closing skills. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Organizational and Management Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools and CRM systems.

  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively across an organizational structure, including finance, legal, marketing, and product teams, to deliver targeted results.

  • Personal Attributes: High-energy, self-driven, and results-oriented mindset. Commitment to Trimble's values.

  • Education and Travel: University degree in Building Construction, Civil Engineering, GIS or a related field, or equivalent experience. Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time. Participate in industry trade shows and other organization events and meetings.
