Position Overview

  • Support the Industrial Security Unit (ISU) as a liaison between the Contracting Office and the Department on classified contract security requirements
  • Facilitate Facility Security Clearances (FCLs) and Personnel Security Clearances (PCLs) for contract vendors through the DoD Contract Security Classification Specification (DD Form 254)
  • Support the DHS Federal Protective Service (FPS), Personnel Security Division (PSD)

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, formulate, and develop DHS-wide policies, standards, and procedures for the Industrial Security Program
  • Advise senior DHS officials and subject matter managers on personnel, contract, and industrial security matters
  • Conduct security surveys, inspections, and compliance reviews in accordance with laws, regulations, Executive Orders, and DHS policies
  • Develop, implement, and oversee programs governed by Executive Order 12829 and the National Industrial Security Program (NISP)
  • Conduct preliminary inquiries into actual or suspected compromise of classified information and ensure proper reporting
  • Apply knowledge of industrial, personnel, and systems security to formulate DHS-wide policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with DHS and component officials using knowledge of organizational structures and security responsibilities
  • Produce reports, special studies, and policy and procedure documentation
  • Conduct analyses, evaluations, and internal inspections of security programs and present written and oral findings
  • Write and maintain Industrial Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Experience in one or more security or intelligence disciplines, including technical, physical, information, industrial, personnel, or operational security
  • Hands-on experience implementing complex government security and/or intelligence programs preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with ISMS, eQIP, CVS, and/or DISS preferred but not required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
