As a Parts Cleaner, you will perform chemical and mechanical cleaning of parts and other metal products by hand, solvent bath or other processes to remove unwanted materials.

What you'll do:

  • Perform incoming, in-process and final cleaning methods and processes as required.

  • Dry part whether by the usage of hot water tank, air dry, or oven dry.

  • Master the use of all cleaning equipment and their maintenance according to the schedule, or as requested by direct lead, or supervisor.

  • Properly maintain all working areas on daily basis by means of sweeping, mopping and removal of waste container.

  • Sort and prepare items to be processed having previously read all working instructions.

  • Clean and maintain cleaning tanks and maintain their optimal working level and concentrations following the recommendations provided by engineering.

  • Participate and promote continuous improvement processes

  • Be open to learn new skills and Cross train other employees when required in support of production and company goals.

  • Observe all applicable safety requirements by the use of assigned PPE and notify direct supervisor of any discrepancy or risk.

  • Perform any other duties assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 75% of the average workday
  • Ability to read and understand manuals, work instructions and any other technical instructions written in English
  • Ability to use a computer and required software.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Thorough knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Thorough knowledge of titrating chemicals.
  • Working knowledge of material safety data sheets and the handling of hazardous materials/chemicals.
  • Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, MSDS labels and original equipment manufacturer manuals for cleaning and related processes
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
