Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Area Health Information Specialist II to provide full onsite Release of Information (ROI) support. This is a critical, high-priority role supporting patient services, ROI processing, and coverage across multiple client locations as needed.

This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, compassionate with patients, and comfortable working in fast-paced healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities

This role provides full-service ROI support, including but not limited to:



  • Onsite ROI processing and medical record request fulfillment
  • Assisting walk-in patients with record requests and disclosures
  • Burning patient records to CDs and managing image requests
  • Scanning, faxing, and handling inbound/outbound ROI workflows
  • Call support for patients, providers, attorneys, and requestors
  • Data entry, email correspondence, and administrative support
  • Monitoring fax queues, inboxes, and shared drives
  • Supporting coverage at other client locations as assigned
  • Traveling between client locations as needed for coverage
  • Collaborating closely with team members and client staff
  • Performing additional duties as assigned



Travel & Coverage Expectations



  • Potential weekly travel, based on operational needs
  • Candidate will be stationed daily at a designated home site
  • May be assigned to support one of five full-service ROI client sites
  • Supports 10 total sites:


    • 5 full-service onsite ROI locations
    • 5 additional sites serviced remotely from staffed locations


  • All locations are cubicle-based environments shared with client staff



Requirements



  • High School Diploma or GED


  • Prior healthcare, HIM, or ROI experience preferred
  • Ability to work fully onsite
  • Willingness to travel locally as coverage needs arise
  • Proficiency with computers, email, and office equipment
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance



Pay ranges for this job title may differ based on location, responsibilities, skills, experience, and other requirements of the role.

The estimated base pay range per hour for this role is:
$16.73 $21.43 USD
