Role Overview

Vivint Smart Home is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Director of Training & Compliance to lead training, development, and compliance for our Direct to Home (D2H) door-to-door sales organization. This leader will be responsible for designing and scaling world-class sales training programs while ensuring full compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and local market requirements.

This role sits at the intersection of performance and protection-driving sales excellence, ethical selling, and consistent execution across a fast-paced, nationwide D2H organization.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Training & Development

    • Own the end-to-end training strategy for the D2H sales organization, from onboarding through advanced leadership development.
    • Design, deliver, and continuously improve training programs focused on:

      • Door-to-door sales skills and product knowledge
      • Value-based selling and customer experience
      • Leadership development for field managers


    • Partner closely with Sales Leadership, Operations, and Product teams to ensure training aligns with evolving business priorities.
    • Develop scalable training tools, playbooks, certifications, and digital learning resources.
    • Measure training effectiveness through performance metrics and field feedback.
    • Record Video Trainings, Podcast Interviews to help keep the sales reps focused and informed.


  • Compliance & Risk Management

    • Lead compliance strategy for DTH sales activities, ensuring adherence to:

      • Company policies and ethical selling standards
      • Federal, state, and local regulations
      • Brand and customer experience expectations


    • Partner with Legal, HR, and Sales Operations to proactively identify and mitigate risk.
    • Oversee compliance training, certifications, and ongoing education for reps and leaders.
    • Establish monitoring, auditing, and escalation processes to address compliance issues quickly and consistently.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and integrity in the field.


  • Leadership & Collaboration

    • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing training and compliance team.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior DTH leadership on performance, readiness, and risk.
    • Influence without authority across regions, markets, and leadership levels.
    • Support change management initiatives tied to new products, processes, or regulatory updates.





Qualifications



  • 8+ years of experience in sales training, sales leadership, compliance, or related roles.
  • Proven experience in door-to-door, field sales, or high-velocity sales environments (required).
  • Strong understanding of sales compliance, regulatory frameworks, and risk mitigation in field sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and scale training programs across large, distributed teams.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to tie training and compliance efforts to measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional partners.



Preferred Experience



  • Experience in smart home, security, telecom, solar, or energy industries.
  • Background working with 1099 and W-2 sales models.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, certification programs, and digital learning tools.
