Job Description




As a Security Officer - Refinery Patrol Driver in Wilmington, DE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed, driving patrol officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine vehicle and foot rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with site teams, document observations, and support a professional, customer-focused experience. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and directing deliveries to designated receiving areas in accordance with post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, process-adjacent areas, parking lots, and perimeter lines to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor cameras, alarm panels, and other monitoring systems; investigate alerts and report irregular conditions in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations by assessing conditions, requesting assistance as needed, and following site escalation and notification procedures.
  • Complete detailed written reports and/or electronic entries for patrol activity, incidents, access activity, and key events; communicate relevant information during shift turnover.
  • Support security-related screening and inspection procedures as directed, including vehicle checks and delivery verification, consistent with site requirements.
  • Coordinate with site contacts and emergency services during drills and/or real-world events, helping to maintain orderly response actions until relieved by authorized personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Have at least 1 year of security experience.
  • - Be at least 21 years of age.
  • - A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
