Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location as an Access Control Officer, where you will help manage entry and exit points, verify identification and visitor credentials, and document deliveries and contractor activity. You will remain visible, communicate clearly with team members and site leadership, and support routine patrols and incident reporting to help promote a secure, well-run operation grounded in integrity, teamwork, and a people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at gates, guard shacks, and/or entry points by verifying identification, scanning credentials, and confirming authorization for employees, visitors, vendors, and drivers.
  • Process visitor and vendor check-in and check-out, issue temporary badges, and maintain access logs in written and/or electronic systems.
  • Coordinate with site operations and Allied Universal supervision to validate appointments, deliveries, and pickups prior to granting access to docks, yards, and buildings.
  • Conduct vehicle screening as required, including checking driver credentials, inspecting visible cargo areas as permitted, and verifying trailer numbers and seal information against shipping documentation.
  • Monitor CCTV and access control alarms to identify unusual activity and report concerns in a timely manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and escalate to site management and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Perform foot and/or vehicle patrols of entry lanes, parking areas, exterior perimeter, and operational spaces to help to deter unauthorized access and support order at the location.
  • Manage traffic flow at entry and exit points by providing directions, controlling lane access, and coordinating with dispatch and yard personnel during peak arrival times.
  • Complete detailed shift reports, incident reports, and access documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift turnover.
  • Follow post orders and site-specific protocols for lost property, prohibited items, and restricted areas, and report policy violations to the appropriate contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
