Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Roving Patrol in Council Bluffs, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech location where you will conduct routine unarmed patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to service and access needs with clear communication. You will document observations, support site procedures, and collaborate with team members to keep operations running smoothly. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology and telecommunications location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Control access by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying identification and/or credentials as required, and directing visitors, vendors, and deliveries to the proper destinations.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other systems as assigned, report irregular conditions, and escalate concerns through established communication channels.
  • Complete detailed reports, incident documentation, and daily activity logs using written notes and/or electronic reporting tools.
  • Provide assistance with customer inquiries, wayfinding, and de-escalation of disputes while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Support site continuity by participating in drills, following evacuation and shelter procedures, and coordinating with emergency responders when needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Allied Universal and site management, consistent with post profile and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
